"Wow, this is going to be a good show..."

PROJECT OVERVIEW
In Spring 2026, the Park Theatre completed a strategic upgrade to its in-house sound system as part of its ongoing investment in delivering high-quality live experiences. Located at 698 Osborne in Winnipeg, the Park Theatre is a 550-capacity live event venue hosting more than 300 events annually across music, comedy, theatre, and film. Building on recent major renovations, the venue continues to improve artist performance and audience experience, with a focus on sound, comfort, and accessibility.

THE OBJECTIVE
As touring standards continue to evolve, Technical Director Matt Mayor identified a
clear trend in incoming riders, with many calling for one of three recognized PA
platforms: L-Acoustics, d&b, or Adamson.
To remain competitive with higher-level touring acts and align with industry
expectations, the Park Theatre decided to upgrade its system to a platform that
would meet these standards while delivering a measurable improvement in in-room
performance. As Mayor explained, the goal was simple: “To continue having the Park
Theatre as a premier venue and to stay current with evolving technology.”
The project also required careful planning and execution within an active event
schedule, with limited downtime available for installation.

THE APPROACH
Working through a collaborative evaluation process, the Park Theatre assessed
system options based on sound quality, room compatibility, and long-term
performance. The venue selected an Adamson system featuring dual arrays of
CS10 speakers (twelve), six CS119 subwoofers installed in a linear configuration
under the stage, and two CS7p lip fills to ensure consistent front coverage.
The final decision was driven by how well the system translated within the room,
delivering clarity, impact, and even coverage across a wide range of event
types. A key consideration was also the strength of working with Canadian
partners, with Adamson being a Canadian manufacturer and installation
support provided by Inland AV, a 100% Canadian company. Inland AV worked
alongside the Park Theatre team to complete the upgrade efficiently within a
tight timeline, ensuring minimal disruption to the venue’s schedule.
THE RESULTS
The impact of the new system was immediate. “People are coming in and talking about it
being the best sounding show they’ve heard,” said Mayor, noting a clear improvement in
consistency and overall sound quality throughout the room.
The response from visiting engineers and touring crews has also been strong. “I’ve had
guest techs come in, push up a fader and just say, ‘Wow, this is going to be a good show.’”
These reactions reinforce the Park Theatre’s position as a reliable and high-performing
room for both artists and audiences, while strengthening its appeal to touring productions.

COLLABORATION
The Park Theatre team worked closely with Inland AV throughout the project. “They have
been responsive to questions and easy to work with,” said Matt Mayor. “The process was
smooth, and they helped us stay on track with our timeline.”
Owner of the Park Theatre, Erick Casselman added: “Inland was great to work with from start to finish. They understood what we were trying to achieve, stayed flexible around our schedule, and delivered exactly what they said they would. In a venue like ours, where downtime is limited, that reliability goes a long way. We’re already working with them on future upgrades at the Park.”
Hayden Major, Inland AV Account Manager for the project commented “I knew they were
looking to achieve something great with this project and had a tight deadline. We were all
passionate about this project and determined to make their vision a reality. Having visited The Park for a rock ‘n’ roll show since the installation, I can say firsthand, the result is phenomenal.”
