Investors Group recently renovated their ”Investment Management Floor” in the downtown Winnipeg, Head Office location. A new communications system was an integral component of the 16th floor renovations. The renovations include an update to the reception area, installation of a videoconferencing (VC) system, the addition of a private VC collaboration meeting room, a refresh of the boardroom and strategic placement of a number of LCD monitors throughout the floor. Some of these systems have become essential to the way I.G. Investment Management Ltd. conducts business on a day-to-day basis.

Here in Canada we start off each day with a Videoconferencing meeting between our Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, and Dublin (Ireland) offices. In addition our Dublin and Hong Kong offices also take advantage of this technology on a regular basis. The Videoconferencing has enriched these critical information sharing sessions as our investment professionals share key economic and company specific developments face-to-face and with interactive and collaborative tools."
Visitors to the Investment Management Floor arrive at the reception area. There are two 52" monitors to keep visitors engaged while they wait. One monitor runs a news channel and the other displays Investors Group market information and other proprietary information.
Daily multisite VC sessions are conducted in the trading area. Note the hanging microphones which make it easy for all the staff to participate in a natural meeting setting.
A private VC Collaboration Room is located adjacent to the main Videoconference Daily Update System for smaller private VC sessions. The VC system is set up on a mobile cart so that it can be moved to other locations within the building as needed.
The 16th floor boardroom includes an Epson BrightLink interactive projection system with a custom framed whiteboard.
With the renovations complete Investors Group has much more than a great looking work space, they have interactive communications tools that help them work as a team.
