Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre

The Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre is open for business. The 526 seat theatre featuring state-of-the-art AV system is ready to host events for the Seven Oaks School Division’s twenty-five schools, community arts and cultural groups and for general community use.

The stage features three rear projection screens that replace the painted background “flats” with graphics and video. The 35’ x 14’ rear screen has three edge blended Epson 11,000 lumen projectors that create bright vivid images. The two 8’ x 14’ wing screens are also driven by two Epson 11,000 projectors. There is also a 20’ x 12’ front projection screen (not visible in these photos) when the venue is used for a lecture style presentation.

The video, audio and lighting systems are all controlled by the two stations at the back of the house. The lighting system includes 104 lighting instruments mounted on a grid above the stage and on the walls. The audio system has a 32 digital channel mixing console and an extensive inventory of microphones (wireless lavaliers, hand held, choir and drum microphones as well as direct boxes and a digital media player) and controlled by Q-SYS to support a wide variety of events. The lighting scenes can be managed in real-time or programmed in advance.

Acoustical motorized banners are in place to create a more intimate space and control audio reflections.

Ben Ross, Theatre Manager “It’s incredible how many bookings we already have for the next year. This facility offers incredible flexibility and creative opportunities to every group wanting to host an event.”
